Following are the performance competition sections being offered in this year’s music eisteddfod.
Schools Sections:
Section 300 – Infants Choir K-2
A selection of TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed. The use of backing track (NO VOCALS) may be used if required.
Section 301 – Junior Primary School Choir – Years 3 & 4
A selection of TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed. The use of backing track (NO VOCALS) may be used if required.
Section 302 – Senior Primary School Choir – Years 5 & 6
A selection of TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed. The use of backing track (NO VOCALS) may be used if required.
Section 303 – Combined Primary School Choir – K – 6
(For Primary School choirs of a different combination of Years to Sections 300, 301 & 302)
A selection of TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed. The use of backing track (NO VOCALS) may be used if required.
Section 304 – Small Schools Choir/Vocal Group (Primary School)
To be eligible to enter this section the school must have fewer than 100 enrolled students.

Section 305 – Secondary School Choir
A selection of TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed. The use of backing track (NO VOCALS) may be used if required.
Section 306 – Secondary School Vocal / Acoustic Instrument Combos
A selection of TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed. (Electronic keyboard is permitted.) Backing tracks are not permitted.

TWO pieces are to be performed.
Section 308 – Junior Primary School Verse Speaking Years 3 & 4
TWO pieces are to be performed.

Section 312 – Higher School Certificate Performance – Individual (Cash + Certificates)
(This Section is for those students who are presenting for the 2024 Higher School Certificate in Music.)
Music Individual Performance – TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed – any instrument or voice. (1st Prize: $15.00 + Certificate)
Section 313 – Higher School Certificate Performance – Group (Cash + Certificates)
(This section is for those students who are presenting for the 2024 Higher School Certificate in Music.)
Music Group Performance – TWO contrasting pieces are to be performed.
Special Note: If amplified instruments are to be used then such equipment is to be wholly the responsibility of the group and be set up and sound checked prior to the commencement of the starting time programmed for the day’s competition. The eisteddfod venue equipment is not permitted to be used. Volume levels must be appropriate to the acoustic properties of the eisteddfod venue, be comfortable to the audience and the adjudicator. Failure to achieve this balance will result in disqualification.

Section 314 – Pre-School Group Performance. One item to be performed of either vocal or instrumental or a combination. (1st Prize: $60.00 + Certificate)
Section 315 – Students with disability: Individual Performance (No places to be determined. All will get a “Performance Certificate”.
“School Choirs Awards” will be made to the TWO choirs demonstrating the best musical expression overall. Value: $75.00 ea.
